It was a terrific night for racing! We had 34 children race from ages 1 to 12! The weather held long enough for us to complete four adult races and four children's races. Racers came from as far away as Lees Summit to race. The children rode well and had a great time. The adults pushed hard through races like "The Devil Takes Hindmost" and the "Win and Out". Everyone had fun.
Roger Harrison aka the Lanterne Rouge set up the course. Ron Stratton provided the "pace car". Julie Anderson Director of Leavenworth Parks and Recreation coordinated the facility and the public works support. Paula Burton and Barb Sheehan of Santa Fe Trails coordinated race registration and conducted the event.
